A native of Villa del Río (Córdoba), Gaitán is praised by critics for her interpretive personality and impeccable technique, developing her piano career with a forward-thinking vision that combines her roots with avant-garde music.
She has performed in prestigious theaters worldwide and in UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, the Medina Azahara Archaeological Site, the La Verdi Auditorium, the Palladium Theater, and the University of West Florida (USA). She has appeared with renowned orchestras such as the Wiener Kammer Orchestra in Vienna, the Bayerisches Kammer Orchestra in Germany, and the G. Verdi Symphony Orchestra in Milan.
She has carried out bilateral cooperation projects with the Academy of Military Sciences and Arts of Spain and has performed as a soloist and in chamber music in over 15 countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Mexico, and the USA, among others.
As a music producer, she has founded and directed the Guadalquivir International Piano Festival since 2010, with venues in Spain, Mexico, and Italy.

María Dolores Gaitán has been the founder and director of the FIP Guadalquivir since 2010, a music festival that generates vibrant and high-level experiences, conceiving music as a fundamental element for social transformation. Winner of the VIII Hasday Ibn Shaprut Award, the festival has venues in Spain, Mexico, and Italy.
